By antbfc99December 8, in Troubleshooting Mac. After a bit of help with my torrent predicament! I'm new to downloading torrents last month or so and it was all going fine, torrents not downloading mac, I've completed several torrent downloads few series and 5 films with no problems at all. Last week I've had major problems with torrents not downloading mac amber light so I read through all the guides on here to make sure it was all set up okay.

Then I read through the forum and saw that it could be a port forwarding issue. I have followed the guide on port forwarding torrents not downloading mac all appears okay BUT the button on torrent is still amber no incoming connections. Not sure what info you may need to provide help so if you just say what you need and preferably how to find it that would be greatly appreciated.

BT DO throttle BitTorrent and streaming traffic at peak times, their traffic 'shaping' policy is detailed on their website. Thanks for the reply ciaobaby. Yes I've seen that, torrents not downloading mac, but that was the case last week as well and I downloaded fine.

I noticed that it would be throttled at peak times, so my download speed would decrease, I'd leave it running and off peak it would speed up and complete the download in no time.

So I just don't see that thats the issue, surely i'd get something, albeit a slow speed, not torrents not downloading mac amber light and 0 seeds and peers?

The "amber light" is saying that your client is "firewalled", so either the port is not forwarded at your router or it has been blocked by the ISP, torrents not downloading mac.

Run the Glasnost tests torrents not downloading mac thread in Speed Problems and disable the firewall built in to the "home hub". In our tests, torrents not downloading mac, uploads using control flows achieved up to Kbps while uploads using BitTorrent achieved up to Kbps.

In our tests, uploads on port achieved up to Kbps while uploads on port achieved up to Kbps. In our tests, downloads using control flows achieved up to Kbps while downloads using BitTorrent achieved up to 29 Kbps. In our tests, downloads on port achieved up to Kbps while downloads on port achieved up to 30 Kbps. I've disabled the firewall on my home hub and i have a green light! I have port forwarding set onbut I'm still not actually getting any downloads starting Saying 0 peers and 0 seeds on a popular download Didn't say they weren't making torrents not downloading mac. Asked what can I do next to download torrents?

Surely that is not the final solution or nobody on BT would be able to get torrents. VPNs bring along their own problems with connections and port forwarding, and of course, regardless of proxies, VPN etc. your data traffic still has to go through BT's systems. They might not be able to block specific ports but your connection can be limited.

okay thanks ciaobaby I've just looked at BTguard, if i am being limited, think this may be worth a shot? Appreciate I have to pay for it but if it might work One thing that is bothering me is why I could download LOADS of files just 2 weeks ago with no issues whatsoever gave bt guard a try but that hasn't helped either.

So does this mean BT have completely stopped all users from downloading torrents? Is anyone aware of a way round it? No, it's probably just you they have blocked completely. Have you tested it by changing listening ports? is listening ports the same as incoming tcp port? If so, yes i have tried several port all within the suitable range If not where can I find this please? Would setting up a proxy server of some kind help? BT guard doesn't seem great in this instance I thought a preferable range was between ?

Either way is that the same as the TCP port i mentioned? So a proxy server won't help. Do you think a VPN is the way forward? I'm sure there must be a way round it or most BT torrent customers would be having the same problem. Thanks again ciaobaby, been a great help so far. Search In.
